Teaching

I am experienced creative writing tutor and have taught for the Centre for Learning at the University of York, Converge York and the Romantic Novelists Association.

I’ve also run workshops for York Archaeological Trust and Grimsby Fishing Heritage Museum using writing to interpret and engage with historical objects.

Writing for Wellbeing Workshops

I believe passionately in the power of writing to aid wellbeing. My approach is holistic and often draws on mindfulness, the natural world and seasonality.

These sessions are for anyone who is interested in exploring their inner life through the power of words. It is not necessary to have any previous writing experience. You just need a pen and paper and a willingness to see where the words take you.

I am a highly experienced facilitator of writing for wellbeing workshops and have run sessions for York Explore, the Centre for Lifelong Learning and East Riding Libraries.

Speaking to a local women’s group

I am an experienced public speaker and often speak to local groups about the inspirations behind my historical novels. My talks highlight the incredible women who have inspired my books as well as shining a light on the dark secrets of Golden Age Hollywood.
